Cook Time
  • 1loaf savory bread
  • 3stalks celery
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 apple(I used Honeycrisp)
  • 1package veggie sausage(optional)
  • 1teaspoon sage
  • 1.5cups veggie broth
  • 2tablespoon flax
  • salt and pepper
  1. Cut bread in rough square inch pieces and spread on a baking sheet. Place in turned off oven overnight and allow to dry out. (If you skip this step, you can lightly toast your bread.)
  2. Mix flax with roughly 4 tablespoons of water and set aside.
  3. Dice onion, celery, and garlic cloves. Saute in pan over medium heat with a little oil or water for 10 to 15 minutes, or until onions are translucent.
  4. Dice apple and add to pan. Saute for about 5 minutes.
  5. Crumble sausage and add to pan. Saute another 5 minutes.
  6. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Add more or less veggie broth depending on desired moistness.
  7. Add stuffing to a glass baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. If desired, broil for a few minutes at the end to make the top crunchy.
